Manganese-rich member of the Axinite group containing manganese in place of iron as well as some additional manganese replacing some calcium. Tinzenite is recognized by the IMA as a distinct mineral species with the following chemical formula: (Ca,Mn)2MnAl2BSi4O15(OH)
