Description |
Very large, well-formed, black Magnesio-hastingsite crystal with a distinct termination, embedded within small white Calcite crystals (the main component of the Franklin Marble.) Associated with Magnesio-hastingsite are silvery Graphite flakes, both embedded directly on the Magnesio-hastingsite crystals and on the marble. On the bottom left of the crystal are small crystals, mostly of dark red Spinel, with a couple of small Geikielite crystal as well. Collected in 2013 together with Glenn Rhein. These crystals present some of the largest and best-formed example of this uncommon amphibole. Collection and photo of Hershel Friedman. |
