Tucson – Shades of Blue
Tucson has gone blue. This because the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show® theme this year is titled “Shades of Blue: Minerals of the World.” Every year the Tucson Gem & Mineral Society determines a theme for the show’s special exhibits, and this year’s color-oriented theme will certainly bring us a lot of excellent azurites, aquamarines, celestines, kyanites, lazurites, sapphires, and turquoise, to name a few. Some examples of themes of previous years have included Minerals of Western Europe, Minerals of Arizona, Fluorite Minerals, and Diamonds Gold & Silver. Our News blog has reported extensively on these previous show exhibits.
We put together a special compilation of photos of some of the most well-known blue minerals. The list is more representative than it is complete, but nevertheless provides the reader with a good assembly of some beautiful blue minerals on one page.
