Dealers: Show us your new finds in Tucson!
If you have any new minerals or interesting finds on sale or on display at Tucson this year, please tell us! We would love to share this information with our audience on our detailed show report pages.
If possible, please let us know in advance what you have, and where you’ll be located. We can then make sure to stop by for a visit and take some photographs.
We will start posting all our updates and show reports after returning from the shows, so please stay tuned and visit our News page as we add new content. |
This Year's Tucson Show
The Tucson show is not one big show, but rather an agglomeration of many shows, large and small. The main show that started it all is organized by the Tucson Gem & Mineral Society, and is held in the Tucson Convention Center. This show is often called the “Main Show”. Aside from being a very large show with most of the important dealers present, this show also showcases world-class exhibits from museums and top collectors. The volume and quality of the exhibits are absolutely incredible.
Theme:
Minerals of Western Europe
There is a special theme to the exhibits every year at the main show, and this year’s theme is Minerals of Western Europe. This is sure to bring an historical collection of amazing classics from the old mines in Europe, many of which are long defunct.
We intend to capture all the showcase exhibits on camera and bring you the best and most comprehensive photo coverage of the show exhibits.

New Minerals Added
We are almost finished with the key sulfosalt minerals in our database. Once done, all the important sulfide minerals will have been indexed in our growing database.
Since our last newsletter in December, we’ve been adding many new minerals and covering lots of new ground. Below is a list of some of the sulfide and sulfosalt minerals we recently added to our database.

Each 30-minute episode of the six-part series follows Veteran mineral dealer Thomas Nagin as he explores locales that are rich in ways beyond their mineral deposits - providing viewers with a unique glimpse of the trade as well as the cultures surrounding the mines. Season one features mines throughout Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia and in Nagin's home state of Arkansas - famous for having the world's best quartz.

The Word of Colored Diamond InfoGraphic
Colored diamonds are fast becoming a popular investment piece as people recognize the value that they have and more so the longevity element of the investment. As these diamonds become increasingly rare, their value will of course increase so now is a good time to invest in the area.
We have been privileged to receive a very helpful InfoGraphic explaining the world of Colored Diamonds. This InfoGraphic has been created by Excalibur Royale, a leading colored diamond supplier. It looks at the facts, at how colored diamonds develop underground, and also why people invest in the area. It also snapshots some quotes from industry experts and focuses on the Argyle Diamond Mine in Australia, famous for the pink diamond.
