Mixed crystal - Crystal containing an indefinite amount of two or more elements or a slight amount of one element replacing another. An example is Siderite, which is iron carbonate (FeCO₃), but commonly contains small amounts of other elements, such as zinc and manganese partialy replacing the iron. See also solid solution.
